LaMarcus Aldridge considers a return to NBA if granted medical clearance

Fifteen-year vet LaMarcus Aldridge is consulting with his medical doctors and heavily considering a return to competition after retiring due to concerns over his heart.

In mid-April of this year, LaMarcus Aldridge took an abrupt but necessary retirement from NBA basketball. Aldridge, a 15-year veteran, signed with the Brooklyn Nets and played for what was only a brief stint before pulling away from competition after being diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.

The syndrome, known to cause a rapid heartbeat, was enough to cause Aldridge to remove himself from competition.

But after a four-month moratorium, the 36-year-old is flirting with a return after a conversation with medical professionals.

Aldridge may consider returning to the NBA after consulting with medical professionals about making a reappearance

After conversations with the medical professionals, Aldridge may be able to make a comeback for the ages. Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news on Twitter that Aldridge may make a return to the NBA. The excitement is definitely there, especially for a longtime star who’s averaged 19.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game over the course of his career. However, the clearance needs to come from the medical professionals before anything else.

The idea of Aldridge returning to the league is an enticing one, especially if he is able to overcome and manage with such a rare disease. However, the real work comes with connecting with teams, working out, and ensuring his transition is seamless as he re-enters the NBA. Nonetheless, you can’t help but root for him and wish him the best in his return.
