John Calipari honors the late Terrence Clarke ahead of NBA Draft with touching tribute

Three months after his passing, the energy and spirit of Kentucky’s Terrence Clarke lives on. Coach Calipari gives him his tribute on draft night.

It’s hard to believe that three months ago, we lost Terrence Clarke way too soon. Clarke, who declared for the NBA Draft just a month before his passing, was slated to be a star in every aspect of the word.

His physical presence may be gone. But with the draft taking stage tonight, I think we can all agree that he will be there front and center in spirit. Even Coach Calipari took the time out to honor his student-athlete and give him his flowers in the process.

Coach Calipari honors Clarke, reminding fans it would have been his athlete’s big night at the Draft

Coach Cal took to Twitter to send his player and his family some love on draft night. He went on to say that, “Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him, his mom, Osmine and their family,” and you can’t put it any more clearly than that.

The NBA also honored Clarke, making him an honorary selection in the 2021 NBA Draft:

When you lose someone, that feeling is ever present. Anything related to the person you lost has a huge impact and brings on a resurgence of emotions that can’t be described most of the time. But to see that the love is still there supersedes any feeling of grief, loss and emotion that you may feel.

I’m positive that the energy will be on 1,000 percent for Terrence Clarke, and the dedication to his memory will be strong at this draft night.
