Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks

Knicks fans melted down on Twitter after embarrassing Game 4 loss to Hawks

The New York Knicks are now on the brink of elimination following their Game 4 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

The New York Knicks were riding high after their huge Game 2 win against the Atlanta Hawks to tie the first-round series to one game apiece. Since the series went to Atlanta, the Knicks looked severely outmatched offensively and, quite frankly, looked like they did not belong.

The very same thing happened on Sunday, as the Knicks were decisively defeated by the Hawks 113-96. Now, New York is on the brink of elimination as they return to Madison Square Garden for Game 5. As for Knicks fans, they let their emotions out on Twitter following Game 4.

We told you they were going through all the emotions.

NBA Playoffs: Knicks on the brink of elimination

The Knicks did not have the greatest game in terms of scoring. The current Most Improved Player of the Year Julius Randle put up the most points he had in a game this series, as he dropped 23 points while shooting 7-for-19 from the field while recording 10 rebounds and seven assists. But as is the case, there is not much scoring on New York’s roster outside of Randle.

As for the Hawks, star Trae Young led the way with 27 points while shooting 9-for-21 from the field. Atlanta also received a huge helping hand from Danilo Gallinari, who scored 21 points in 25 minutes off the bench.

This Wednesday will be a huge day for the Knicks. If they win, they extend the series and try to force the series to seven games. If not, they will have an early start to their offseason. Either way, Knicks fans can take solace in the fact that the team did surprise the NBA world and make the playoffs.
