Draymond Green names Darius Garland as one of the hardest players to guard

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green offers tremendous praise of Cleveland Cavaliers’ guard Darius Garland.

Cleveland Cavaliers fans should be very excited about what Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green said about their point guard Darius Garland.

When asked who is one of the hardest players in the league to guard, Green offered the following.

“Darius Garland actually,” said Green on “Warriors Roundtable” on 95.7 The Game. “And I know that’s probably an unpopular opinion. That kid is so fast, so herky-jerky and he can shoot the ball. When he really figures out how good he truly is.

“I hate getting switched onto him. It’s rough getting switched onto Darius Garland.”

The future could be very bright in Cleveland with Garland at the helm leading their offense.

Cavaliers: Draymond Green says Darius Garland is incredibly difficult to guard

To be fair, Green is best equipped to guard big men. While he is certainly capable of guarding anyone 1 through 5 on the hardwood, we all know he is at his best when he’s taking advantage of lumbering centers and not-as-physical wing players. It should be noted that Garland was a former lottery pick by the Cavaliers out of Vanderbilt. They drafted him with this type of game in mind.

While lowly Cleveland is still a year or two away from seriously contending for an Eastern Conference playoff berth, it is nice to know that some of the Cavaliers’ young players are starting to leave an impression on some of the best players in the league. Green will end up in the National Basketball Hall of Fame one day for his incredible career, so his praise of Garland speaks volumes.

It may have been another long year for the Cavaliers, but the future looks bright with Garland.
