Lu Dort rejects John Wall’s game-winning layup to continue Rockets’ losing streak (Video)

The Houston Rockets’ losing streak continues after a John Wall layup was blocked by Lu Dort to give the Oklahoma City Thunder the win Sunday.

“Houston, we have a problem” is a bit too cliche, but it is the absolute truth right now. Entering Sunday’s slate of games, the Houston Rockets held a 19-game losing streak and look destined to earn the first overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery. Those odds certainly improved, but not without a bit of drama.

The Rockets were down 114-112 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and star point guard John Wall looked to send the contest into overtime. Wall drove to the basket on what looked like an easy layup attempt, but Thunder guard Lu Dort blocked the shot from behind to seal the loss for Houston.

Rockets’ losing streak extends to 20 games after falling to Thunder

Wall did the best he could to give the Rockets life late, because he was solid throughout the game. In 35 minutes, Wall scored 24 points (on 7-of-18 shooting from the field), dished out 7 assists and recorded 3 steals. Wall was one of three Rockets players to score over 20 points on Sunday, joining center Christian Wood (27) and guard Victor Oladipo (23).

Dort managed to record 23 points (on 10-for-22 shooting from the field), 3 rebounds, 3 assists and his pivotal block on Wall.

The Rockets will now look to end their 20-game losing streak on Wednesday, but it comes against the playoff-contending Charlotte Hornets. From there, it will be interesting to see if the Rockets embrace the tank, because the trade deadline takes place the day after.
