Ben Simmons says he’ll miss Carson Wentz in Philadelphia (Video)

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons shared the love with former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz over Twitch.

Even though Carson Wentz does not play for the Philadelphia Eagles anymore, he still has the respect of Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons. Being a star professional athlete in Philadelphia is not easy, and Simmons is well aware of this. He wishes Wentz the best these days.

Simmons was on Twitch on Sunday night when he offered up something deep on his former City of Brotherly Love compadre. “Do I miss Carson Wentz? Yeah, he is the man, bro. He had some bad luck. But he won a championship, too. He was part of bringing the Eagles a ring. So I’ve got to love him.” Wentz was traded this winter by the Eagles to the Indianapolis Colts after five NFL seasons.

Ben Simmons knows a thing or two about being on the Philadelphia trading block

When Simmons arrived as the No. 1 pick by the 76ers out of LSU, he carried with him immense expectations. The 76ers were in the midst of “The Process,” bottoming out and tanking unlike any team before them or since. Along with center Joel Embiid, Simmons has been a cornerstone of 76ers basketball for the better part of a decade. However, he has always been rumored in trades.

The thought is Embiid and Simmons could not coexist on the floor due to spacing. Despite not having perfectly complementary games, the 76ers have been a perennial playoff team once Simmons and Embiid overcame early-career injuries. As for Wentz, his Philadelphia tenure was a lot more tumultuous, one filled with injuries, backup quarterbacks and not wanting to compete.

Wentz may have gotten a raw deal in Philadelphia, but it doesn’t change Simmons’ opinion of him.
