LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron has a simple message for the haters after Lakers’ 4th-straight loss

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their fourth straight loss last night to the Utah Jazz and LeBron James has a message for their doubters.

The Los Angeles Lakers were routed last night by the Utah Jazz 114-89 in what was their fourth straight loss. The Jazz hit a ridiculous 22 3-pointers and shot 46 percent from long distance in the game, holding the Lakers to just 40 percent shooting from the field. Los Angeles has been struggling without the presence of All-Star Anthony Davis, who has been battling nagging injuries this season. Dennis Schroeder was also still out, further complicating the Lakers’ rotation.

LeBron James finished the game with just 19 points, going 7-for-13 from the field but 1-of-5 from 3-point range. The King was a -20 in the plus-minus category for the evening. He’s no stranger to a little mid-season turbulence though, and he had a message for any doubters after the loss.

LeBron James says the Lakers’ recent struggles don’t define them

Prior to Anthony Davis’s absence, the Lakers were riding high. They’ve now fallen from the second to the third seed in the Western Conference behind the Los Angeles Clippers. Many NBA fans and media had the Lakers as favorites to repeat for the title at the start of the season. But now, a few roster needs have recently made people question whether or not the team is built to repeat, especially given the other high-profile moves made by other teams.

Still, LeBron says that this four-game skid isn’t an indictment on the team’s future.

The Lakers simply haven’t been healthy, so it’s hard to say they can’t recover from their recent troubles. Getting Anthony Davis back after the All-Star break and making a few moves before the deadline would put the Lakers in a much better position than they’re in right now.

While it’s definitely too soon to press the panic button, it’ll be interesting to see if the King and company can get back on track sooner than later.
