Joe Harris could help out several contenders this offseason.
Some might derisively call Brooklyn Nets sharpshooter Joe Harris a one-trick pony, but his one trick is so impressive that it’s allowed to be a reliable scoring presence on a team that has made the playoffs in each of the last two seasons.
Harris will be a free agent this season, as the former Three-Point Contest champion who has shot 45 percent from 3 over the last two seasons could bring his lights-out shooting to a team in need of perimeter scoring. These five teams look like the best spots for Harris.

Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies were one of the league’s best stories last year, as a team many expected to finish with one of the worst records in the league rode a sterling rookie season from Ja Morant to a ninth-place finish in the Western Conference. Unfortunately, Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. couldn’t make the postseason, as the squad ran out of gas in the Disney bubble.
The lack of shooting and perimeter depth is what killed them, as Dillon Brooks and De’Anthony Melton by themselves simply aren’t good enough to hold down the fort. Harris could give that backcourt rotation the juice it needs.
Taylor Jenkins, a disciple of Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer, clearly wants to play a fast-paced, three-heavy offense. Morant is many things, 99 percent of which are good, but he’s not an elite shooter at this juncture. Be it as an ace sixth man or a starter that pushes Brooks to the small forward spot, Harris should finally make Memphis a respectable offense from beyond the arc.
