Lou Williams takes Kendrick Perkins to task for criticism over breaking the NBA bubble

Lou Williams and Kendrick Perkins have taken their beef to social media

The Los Angeles Clippers star’s 10-day quarantine is underway, and in the meantime he’s attacking all of his detractors on Twitter. A former NBA player who’s since broken from the brotherhood, Kendrick Perkins, criticized Williams for unintentionally breaking the rules during his excused absence from the bubble.

Williams, who’d been granted permission to leave the bubble in the first place for undisclosed reasons, stopped for food at a local strip club. Because of this unapproved contact with the outside world, Lou will miss the Clippers’ first two seeding games in the bubble.

Was Kendrick Perkins out of line to call out Lou Williams?

The 33-year-old didn’t take kindly to the ESPN analyst’s comments, and took him to church in a harshly-worded Twitter message.

A stern warning from Williams should end any friendly conversation between these two former colleagues. Perkins, for one, signed up for this animosity when he agreed to become an analyst for ESPN, criticizing the players he once called teammates. Such is the life of a retired NBA player, and Perkins’ analysis is called upon in part due to the on-court information he can tell us that others — those who simply know the game, but haven’t shared the court with professionals — simply cannot.

At this point, however, Perkins is used to that level of clap-back, with former players and teammates, namely one Kevin Durant, frequently taking aim at him in the media. With the bubble season around the corner, it’s actually rather refreshing to talk basketball again, even if it involves strip club hot wings.
