With the 2020 NBA Trade Deadline approaching, here’s the one trade each and every NBA team should consider making to improve.

NBA trade deadlines are like avalanches. There are rumblings ahead of time. There are rumors, which are basically small booms and cracks that preface the action. There are sometimes small moves, or little tumbles that don’t actually bring down the whole mountain. But usually, right before the deadline, all the action starts sprinting down with gravity in one long, tireless dash of lunacy.

Sometimes players who weren’t available end up moving across the continent. Some teams get better and some get worse, but usually one or two championship contenders rise above the pile. No matter what, the ground around the mountain, the surrounding environment, always ends up looking a little different after the slide. There’s a lot that takes place on trade deadline day, so here’s a list of trades, giving one per NBA team, that could actually occur.

Every trade listed is viable, both financially and logically. I don’t have any insider insight on which players are available and which are not, but there are of course rumors upon to draw.

There’s some crossover between trades, in that certain players can be found multiple times on this list, but no one trade is repeated. The goal here was to keep proposed trades as realistic as possible, offering logic and reasoning for both teams throughout. If the avalanche happens this year, and the 2019-20 deadline rumbles and spits and starts to tumble down the mountain all in a hurry, some of these trades may just happen.
