During his press conference after being drafted No.7 by the Chicago Bulls, Coby White had an amazing reaction to his college teammate, Cam Johnson being picked No. 11.
It has been a special night for Coby White, former North Carolina guard. After hearing his name called as the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, White had a priceless reaction when he found out that his college teammate, Cam Johnson went No. 11 overall to the Phoenix Suns. On a night where White could have basked in his own glory at being one of the top ten picks in the draft, White took the time in his own press conference to express his emotions on Johnson also being a lottery pick.
While everyone knows that Coby White is an incredible basketball player, this video shows the amazing personality White has as well. In the video, White’s raw emotions flood through as he shows how proud and happy he is that his friend and teammate has also found success in the draft.
Although tonight’s draft may be about teams possibly finding their next superstar, Coby White’s reaction proves what the draft really means to all of these players. Especially for players coming out of the same college, the draft marks a special moment as they not only witness greatness for themselves, but also for their friends. They all know that the road here was not easy and that they all had to overcome struggles and obstacles to get to where they are today.
