NBA Draft Lottery: NBA Twitter reacts to Knicks losing Zion Sweepstakes

The New York Knicks were the biggest loser at the NBA Draft Lottery as they will pick third and won’t get to draft Duke phenom, Zion Williamson.

The Knicks couldn’t even get the Ja Morant consolation prize. The Knicks were the biggest loser at the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night. They will pick third and lost out on Zion Williamson. Dreams were dashed.

They were among the three teams with the best odds to win the Zion Sweepstakes, also known as the NBA Draft Lottery. With a 14 percent chance to draft Zion and bring a superstar to Madison Square Garden, fans couldn’t help but get excited at the prospect of the franchise returning to prominence.

As the first 10 teams had their envelopes were pulled, the Knicks were safely inside the top four picks. The Bulls, Suns and Cavaliers who had the next best odds to the Knicks were all outside the top four as the Lakers, Grizzlies and Pelicans were alive for the right to take Zion Williamson.

The Knicks had the best odds of the four remaining teams to get Zion but the thought that the Lakers could steal him and pair with LeBron was enough to have fans saying their prayers. After the longest commercial break of their life, the top four was released.

It stung like a nest of angry wasps when the Knicks envelope was pulled with the third pick.
